Minister of Energy Yiorgos Lakkotrypis has said that the government will have in the coming days the outcome of a study regarding the construction of a pipeline that would carry natural gas from the “Aphrodite” gas field – block 12 – of Cyprus` Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) to the coast of Egypt for the country`s domestic market or for other markets.
In statements on Sunday, Lakkotrypis said that the study, which began two months ago by the Cyprus Hydrocarbons Company and the Egyptian EGAS, will define the techno-economic elements of a natural gas pipeline from the Aphrodite gas field to the Egyptian coast.
“We expect that this study will be ready within the next days”, he said.
