The government`s decision to construct an onshore terminal for the liquification of natural gas constitutes a primary goal, Government Spokesman Nicos Christodoulides has said.
In a written statement, the Spokesman notes that for the time being this plan has not been implemented due to the high construction cost (about 10 billion euro) and the fact that natural gas quantities found so far do not allow either the state or third parties to proceed with such an investment.
“If the data we have today before us changes, the state will of course proceed with the implementation of its plans for the construction of the terminal”, he points out.
