The first drilling of ENI/KOGAS in the Onasagoras field in Cyprus` Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) is crucial for the continuation of the exploration programme of the consortium, Minister of Energy Giorgos Lakkotrypis has said, adding that Cyprus is cautiously optimistic.
Addressing Friday evening an event in Limassol on Cyprus` Energy Prospects, Lakkotrypis said that ENI/KOGAS will proceed with four exploration drilling, adding that the results of the first drilling are expected in December.
“This first drilling will be crucial for the future since it will show what is there at the Onasagoras field and will give us data for the whole geological structure of the area”, he stressed.
