The results of exploratory deep-sea drilling, carried out offshore by energy companies ENI and Kogas, are expected to provide further details on potential hydrocarbon fields in the island`s Exclusive Economic Zone, in the coming weeks, Energy Minister Yiorgos Lakkotrypis has said.
The government`s first priority is to sell natural gas, while an onshore terminal continues to be an option that could give a strategic dimension and value to the first goal, Lakkotrypis told the Parliamentary Committee on Budget and Financial Affairs, on Thursday, as he presented the budget of his ministry for 2015.
Lakkotrypis noted that ENI-Kogas drilling at “Onasagoras” reservoir is proceeding very well, within the set time-frames and soon there will be a clearer picture about the quantities of natural gas located in this field.
