The government is looking at all options in relation to the exploitation of hydrocarbon reserves in Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone, Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism Yiorgos Lakkotrypis has said.
Lakkotrypis reiterated that certain conditions must be met for the construction of an on-shore Natural Gas Liquefaction Terminal in order to make it viable and competitive in the global market.
The Minister was asked to comment on what the senior advisor to former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown for Energy and former Vice-President of British Petroleum, for strategy and policy development had said in an interview with the Israeli Globe, calling on the Israeli government to forget liquefied gas exports because they are not economically viable and realistic.
