The Council of Ministers has approved Wednesday the Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the sector of energy between the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism of the Republic of Cyprus and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Jordan.
The Cyprus News Agency reports Deputy Government Spokesman Victoras Papadopoulos as explaining that the MoU provides for cooperation in exchanging information, expertise, and experience on hydrocarbons, energy infrastructure, energy network management, liquefied fuel reserves, and the protection of the environment.
It also provides for investigating the possibility of exporting natural gas from Cyprus to Jordan, and the exchange of information, expertise, knowledge, and training regarding the installation and operation of renewable energy systems, saving energy, and the energy performance of buildings.
The MoU was signed in Amman on September 9.
Papadopoulos noted that the agreement with Jordan was proof that the Government is proceeding with their plans regarding energy matters.
