Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister Neoklis Sylikiotis has said that Cyprus must continue with the implementation of its plans to set up a natural gas liquidation plant.
We must rely on the alliances formed with the countries of the region and to fulfill projects, which are necessary to build a natural gas pipeline from Cyprus to EU countries, he said.
Sylikiotis noted that the issue of building such pipeline to the EU has been discussed during the last months and recalled that during a meeting held in Cyprus on December 13, 2012, the competent EU Commissioner had noted how important Eastern Mediterranean hydrocarbon reserves are for the EU supply, given the fact that there is a declining supply from the North Sea.
