Global summits organiser, IRN, has announced today that the Cypriot – Greek Oil & Gas Summit will return for a second year and be held in Cyprus from 18th till 19th April 2013.
The summit will welcome back over 200 senior executives, governmental officials and university professors operating in the hydrocarbon industry in the Eastern Mediterranean and Balkan region. The inaugural event held earlier this year was an outstanding success and welcomed members of European Parliament, Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority, Hellenic Petroleum S.A, Investment Bank of Greece, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Cyprus, Aker Solutions, Adira Energy and DESFA; all of which are expected to attend once again in 2013.
The aims of the summit are to provide a platform for the leading players in the market to come together to discuss the very promising development of the petroleum and natural gas industry of Cyprus and Greece. Following the licenses that have been awarded on several offshore blocks, this region is attracting much global interest from the leading oil and gas companies.
The main topics to be discussed at the summit will include offshore exploration developments in the region and the challenges involved, effects on the future of Europe, an analysis of the expected outcome of the first licensing round, an assessment of the second licensing round, the energy efficiency of Cypriot and Greek region, the offshore and onshore hydrocarbon potential of Greece, Hellenic Petroleum Group Exploration & Production activities, the TAP project, the Poseidon project, and many others.
